Our Story

Where Passion Meets Purpose

Hickstead is more than an equestrian clothing brand: it is the result of a lifelong passion for horses, a commitment to quality, and a belief that style should never compromise functionality.

In 2023, Frida took over Hickstead from Ignacio Astolfi after learning that she could no longer continue her professional riding career. Having spent most of her life as a competitive showjumper, horses had always been at the center of her world. While stepping away from competition was not easy, it opened the door to a new journey: one that allowed her to remain connected to the equestrian community she loves.

“For all my life, I identified myself as a professional showjumper. Then I suddenly stepped into a world I knew nothing about.”

The transition from rider to business owner came with challenges, lessons, and plenty of mistakes along the way. However, it also brought a renewed sense of purpose. Today, Hickstead represents Frida's vision of contributing to the equestrian world in a different but equally meaningful way.

Our Philosophy

Inspired by Two Cultures

At Hickstead, everything begins with two core principles: quality and minimalism.

We believe that equestrian clothing should be elegant, timeless, and designed to perform. Rather than chasing short-lived trends, we focus on creating pieces that combine sophisticated design, comfort, and durability.

Quality is our highest priority. For that reason, our production has always remained in Spain and will continue to do so. By keeping production local, we can maintain high standards, support skilled craftsmanship, and ensure that every garment reflects the values we stand for.

Our goal is simple: to offer stylish, high-quality equestrian clothing that remains accessible to riders and horse lovers of all ages. Whether for men, women, or children, every piece is designed to bring together practicality, comfort, and refined style.

Originally from Sweden, Frida draws inspiration from both Northern and Southern Europe. Hickstead reflects this unique blend of influences, combining Scandinavian simplicity and elegance with the warmth, lifestyle, and craftsmanship of Southern Europe.
